Jack Roe (CS) Limited

Established in the 1920’s, Jack Roe has since developed into one of the UK’s leading cinema suppliers. Based in Ross-on-Wye Herefordshire, this innovative company provides a range of cinema solutions, such as projection and sound equipment and film editing supplies, to all areas of the cinema industry, including large distributors and single-screen cinemas.

As of 1984 the company has also operated another division, Roe Computer Systems (RCS), which offers a variety of different computer solutions, including a complete cinema and festival ticketing system. Collectively, the two divisions make up Jack Roe (CS) Ltd.

Jack Roe (CS) Ltd is one of HB Accountants’ longest–standing clients, having first employed the services of the firm shortly after it was first established in London back in 1921.

Juliet Roe, Financial Director of Jack Roe (CS) Ltd comments: "To my knowledge, my husband’s grandfather, Jack Roe, was once an old business acquaintance of Arthur Palmer, who joined HB Accountants in 1922, which is how we first started working with them. It is now over eighty years later and we still continue to have a very good working relationship with the firm."

HB Accountants carries out the company’s annual audit requirements and also assists with financial advice when required.

Juliet continues: "Besides carrying out all of our basic accounts and audit functions, HB Accountants are always on hand to offer us useful advice when we need it, which over the years has proved invaluable.

In recently starting up another company in the USA, for example, HB Accountants played an instrumental part in helping us to make sure that we had all the correct information and were following the right procedures.

In another instance, a situation cropped up some 12 years ago where we experienced a big problem with one of our clients which was later taken to court. Being Hereford based, we contacted a local firm of solicitors who were unable to help because the case was too specialised for them to handle. Naturally distressed, we contacted HB Accountants for advice who immediately put us in touch with a specialist London firm and we then went on to actually win the case."

Juliet concludes: "I could name further examples but to summarise HB Accountants have provided us with an exceptional level of service and been an extremely helpful source of advice throughout the years.
