John joined HB Accountants in 1976 and has heads up our Tax department.
Extensively qualified, John is a fellow of the institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), as well as an Associate of the Chartered Tax Institute (CTA).
John contributes a wealth of knowledge and experience of all aspects of taxation. John is able to assist you with all your tax requirements and has particular expertise in dealing with Trusts. -

Brian joined HB Accountants in 1977 after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1976.
He has able to assist on a variety of matters such as audit, management accounting, company secretarial and general accounting issues. His particular areas of expertise include corporate finance and charity administration. Brian is currently acting as Clerk to the Trustees of the Rotherhithe Consolidated Charities, which boasts funds totalling £4 million, as well as being a Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Gardeners in London.

Having worked in accountancy for many years, Keith Grover contributes a wealth of experience to his position as the operations director of HB Accountants.
Keith is able to apply his extensive knowledge to assist a wide of range of clients, both SMEs and larger businesses, with their various accounting, tax and general business needs. He has particular expertise in working closely with clients in the charities sector.
Technically strong, Keith is also responsible for overseeing all quality control and technical matters within the practice’s audit and accounts department.
Keith is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

John is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He started his journey with HB at the age of 19 as the tea boy and is now the Business Development Director.
John's key role is advising commercial clients on strategies to help their businesses grow and has considerable experience of working with a wide range of business clients, in a variety of industries.

Colin is an Audit and Accounts Manager and joined HB in 1980. He is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).
Colin is very focused, working hard and going the extra mile to ensure that client's needs are fully met. He has great inter-personal skills and has formed excellent relationships with his clients. He also has strong all-round technical skills. A significant part of his work is the preparation of periodic management accounting information, this being vital to management decision making. He is our main contact point in providing accounting software support and coaching, in particular with Sage.

Karen is a fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (FCCA) and joined HB in 1998.
Karen is an Audit Manager at the firm and responsible for overseeing a large majority of the firm's audit clients and also specialises in Solicitors audits. Her great inter-personal and technical skills have led Karen to make strong client relationships. Karen is a dedicated team member and uses her extensive experience and expertise to assist the less experienced team members with their work. She also takes an active role in the marketing of the firm and organises networking events on behalf of HB. -

Karen is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and joined HB in 1996.
Karen is an Accounts Manager at the firm and is responsible for overseeing the preparation of Management accounts and financial statements for a wide and varied range of clients. She is hardworking and efficient and this has helped her build strong relationships with all her clients.

Ann has been with HB since 1984. Up to her retirement in 2009 she was the office manager. Not wanting to leave HB altogether but wanting more time to spend with the grandchildren and doing all her various hobbies and activities Ann now works 2 days a week.
She primarily deals with the firms accounts and also aids Brian in the weekly management of Rotherhithe Charities.

Catherine joined HB Accountants in 2004 working as a trainee in the audit and accounts department.
She predominantly works on the majority of the firm's larger audits and has experience of assisting more specialist clients with their audit work, such as clients in the hospitality and recruitment industries.
Her professionalism and strong interpersonal skills have naturally made Catherine popular with both her colleagues and clients. She also takes an active role in the marketing of the firm and attends various networking events on behalf of HB and helps Karen Risley with the organisation of HB's own events.
Client's requirements are key for Catherine and she pulls out all the stops to ensure that this area is fully covered on all occasions.
Catherine is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (MAAT) and is currently working towards her Chartered qualification.

Barrie Chase

Barrie joined HB Accountants in 2006 working as a trainee in the audit and accounts department.
He works predominantly on the firm's larger audits. Barrie is a strong member of the team and is technically strong in all audit areas. He has also assisted and in more recent years led the audits in more specialist areas such as Solicitors and Clubs. He also has a good working knowledge of Sage accounts packages and has assisted clients with their book keeping and management accounts preparation requirements.
Barrie is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and is looking forward to starting his Chartered qualification.

Dawn is a dedicated and hard working member of the HB Accountants team and has been with the firm since 2005.
Dawn is a frequent point of first contact, on the telephone or at reception. She is an experienced secretary with a number of related qualifications. As well as being predominantly responsible for overseeing the firm's administrative duties she takes an active role in maintaining the website. Dawn also has a supportive role in the marketing of the firm and the HB networking events.

Vince joined HB Accountants in 2007 working as a trainee in the audit and accounts department.
Vince’s role involves working on the majority of the large team audits and having been exposed to all areas within an audit from an early stage in his training he is comfortable with all audit areas and is an asset to the team. He also prepares accounts for smaller clients.
He comes to the firm with a degree in accounting with economics from the University of Essex. He is training for qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Rachel joined HB Accountants in November 2011 with progressive payroll experience covering varied roles since 1996.
Educated to degree level and having completed Foundation in Payroll and Payroll Management qualifications, Rachel has the ability to produce a high standard of work when undertaking a wide range of mathematical, investigative and administrative tasks.
Rachel deals with payroll for more than 30 of our clients and is also training as a personal tax assistant.
