COVID19: Local Authority Discretionary Grant Fund websites

Some Local Authorities are now starting to publish application forms for the Discretionary Grant Fund, some of which require a fair amount of supporting documentation.

UPDATE – 9 June: We understand that Broxbourne Council are expecting to launch this scheme later today, which provides potential funding for those businesses that did not qualify for funding support under the Business Support Grant Fund or Self Employment Income Support Scheme – For Broxbourne Council businesses, applications must be submitted directly by the applicant to Broxbourne Council by Friday 19th June and they will consider and determine any applications. Applications need to be submitted at https://www.broxbourne.gov.uk/business/discretionary-grants-fund-scheme/1

UPDATE #2 – 9 June: The launch of the Discretionary Local Authority Grand fund for Broxbourne businesses will not be actioned today as expected – the hope is for scheme to open for applications later this week.

What happens next

Your local council will run an application process and decide whether to offer you a grant.

You do not have to pay the grant back but it will be taxable. Only businesses which make an overall profit once grant income is included will be subject to tax.
